Winner!
Today is my lucky day! Usually it is Dan that win’s everything around here, but today I am the lucky winner. Due to a random number generator I won some pretty cool kits. I’m stoked!

I’m taking an online photo editing/speical effects class and here’s the photo I created after my little lesson today.
David was entertaining himself with this empty bottle of root beer last Sunday while Michael was opening presents. Dan got some cute shots of David trying to get every last drop out of this can. I wish I had more time to play around with photoshop and all the pictues we take.
I entered my first digital scrapbooking kit into a contest a week or so ago and actually won 10th place. Even won 10 bucks. Thanks to all of you who took a minute to help out! When I get the time I hope to create some more. You can find my kit here if you want to see my first attempt at a kit.
I always love the digital scrapbooking stuff on this website and they are having their own little Christmas countdown giveaway. So fun. Here’s the deal:
“Hi Weedsters,
this month we are doing something special. We have abandoned our regular blog schedule to bring you our very own Weeds & Wildflowers Advent calendar, a 25 day countdown to Christmas. But you have to hurry, each link will be up 24h only (from and to midnight). Each day we will have a fun new gift waiting for you.“
So if you are trying to get into digital scrapbooking, or are looking for some fun digital stuff, look here. I already missed out on the first 2 days, but today’s is fun and I am expecting there to be some other neat stuff until Christmas.

This is what I wake up to every day- super smiles from David. He is such a happy kid we love talking to him and making him smile.

Here’s a little video too taken on October 2nd. The quality isn’t the best, so it is a little hard to see, but he gave the cutest little smile one afternoon when we were outside playing.
I saw this on a few other people’s websites and thought it might be a fun way to display my new hobby. I’m still not sure why I spend so many hours creating these pages- I guess it just helps capture memories and archive events. I enjoy putting them together though, and that’s a good enough reason for me.
A few Fridays ago we took a little trip to our local zoo. The main one around here is up in the Twin Cities, about a 75 minute drive, so we decided to check out the free one in Byron, about 10 minutes away. I thought it would be a great place to take Michael since he seems so fond of animals lately. Turns out this place was more like a petting zoo with farm animals and a few other animals behind cages- one black bear, a fox, cougar, otters, and a few other animals like owls, eagles, turkeys, and badgers. It took us not more than 45 minutes to view all the exhibits. Michael was scared of the cows, and more interested in the waterfall in the bear cage than the bear itself. However, he loved running around the grass and poking his head through the fences. We took a million pictures that day (Dan taking one of every exhibit for the record) and here are a few. I added the scrapbook page I made at the end as well, just for fun.
